The training for the tenderers, suppliers and consultants registered with the e-GP system started in the city on November 27, 2011.
The CPTU has outsourced the e-GP training to Dohatec New Media Ltd. The e-GP training for the registered bidders was inaugurated by Director of CPTU Kazi Jahangir Alam at Dohatec office at 43 Purana Paltan Line in Dhaka. The System Analyst of CPTU, Md. Mosharraf Hussain, and officials of Dohatec were also present on the occasion.
The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of IME Division is implementing the e-GP under the Public Procurement Reform Project-II supported by the World Bank.
The four target agencies under the project such as LGED, REB, BWDB and RHD have already published their e-tender notices on the e-GP system.
Until November 27, 2011, a total of 248 bidders, 37 procuring entities and over 300 branches of seven scheduled banks registered with the e-GP system. The CPTU has developed the national e-GP web portal (www.eprocure.gov.bd). The piloting of e-tender is now going on at the target agencies and CPTU of the IME Division.
The CPTU targets training for about 1000 bidders and at this stage the one-day free of cost training for the registered bidders began on Sunday. The training will continue in phases with about 25 to 30 bidders in each batch.
