1. To ensure gender considerations are fully mainstreamed in project’s workplan and budget (WP&B) as well as during project implementation in all activities.

Gender and Inclusion Expert

1.  Function as a technical advisor to ensure gender considerations are fully mainstreamed during project implementation in all activities;
2. Update the Gender Action Plan, and ensure that gender considerations are adequately reflected in the project’s work plan and budget (WP&B);
3. Conduct additional gender analysis, particularly during the implementation of Vulnerability Risk Assessment (VRA) exercises, to ensure full consideration of roles, needs, benefits, risks, and needs of women (including intersection with their socio-economic status, ethnicity, age, etc.);

1. Advanced university degree in Women’s or Gender Studies, Development Studies, Sociology or any other related field;
2. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience related to gender mainstreaming in climate change or development projects (with a focus on livelihoods and agriculture), and in formulating gender responsive project activities;
3. In-depth of understanding of gender analysis frameworks and action plans;
4. Prior experience of working with donor-funded projects implemented by Government of Bangladesh, and facilitating gender responsiveness in those projects;

The Component Director (CD) will provide necessary information as per requirement of the consultancy. Component Director will also inform the cost centers of DOE and DAE to provide arrangements for necessary data and documents as needed for the preparation of reports by the consultant. The consultant will engage enumerators, staffs and experts for field data collection if required.
