1. To conduct a needs assessment of the agribusiness sector and critical market linkages for priority innovations (crops, management practices etc.) in target geographies and recommend for further development of appropriate market linkages between farmers, farmer organizations, and agribusinesses for climate resilient livelihoods.
2. To develop financial products (e.g., working capital credit, bundled input credit) for farmers, farmer organizations, individual entrepreneurs, and MSMEs;

Agribusiness Expert

1. Function as a technical advisor to ensure appropriate market linkages between farmers, farmer organizations, and agribusinesses for climate-resilient livelihoods;

2. Propose financial-analysis-based modifications or new activities, as a part of the project WP&B, to enhance the sustainability of business models set up under the project (entrepreneurs as local service providers, MSMEs, etc.);

1.  Advanced university degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Management, Agricultural Economics or Marketing, or any other related field;
2. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience related to agricultural business development (with a focus on crop sub-sector), with experience in incubating, supporting, and strengthening agribusiness entrepreneurs and MSMEs;
3 In-depth of understanding of rural business development;
4. Prior experience of working with donor-funded projects implemented by Government of Bangladesh, particularly through the national agricultural research or extension system, farmer organizations, and agribusinesses;
5. Relevant publications in the peer reviewed journals;

The consultant shall produce new knowledge based on implementation of the Component 3 project activities, with special focus of value chain mapping and implementation, as well as other technical activities related to climate change adaptation (CCA). The DAE and DoE personnels, who will be engaged in the process, as counterpart officials, will be part of the on-the-job trainings and gains new knowledge and capacity.
